Publish a finished merged video from its project, then follow the upload in Publishing Activity.
Content reviewed: October 20, 2026.
Connect the publishing destination
YouTube publishing is included in Free. Connect your channel with the site’s Google OAuth setup before publishing a merged source. A Hailuo or Google generation key does not authorize YouTube.
Pro adds completed merged videos to the same publishing workflow. It does not add direct posting to every social network.
Queue a completed merged video
- Open the project’s Merged Videos section and preview the completed output.
- Choose Publish on that merged video.
- Enter the required publishing title. Review the description, tags and the YouTube category shown for the destination.
- Check the channel and its visibility/default settings. Save edited details explicitly, then select the destination to queue.
- Queue the upload and open Publishing Activity to track it.
Saving publishing details does not publish the video. Queueing is the separate action that starts the upload workflow.
Follow progress and failures
Publishing Activity shows the queued upload, result or error and the completed destination link. Read a failed upload’s message and check its channel authorization before retrying.
A prior published link can remain visible while a replacement publish runs. Use the status for the current upload to decide whether the new delivery completed.
Choose frontend playback separately
Your playback setting can use a published destination when a usable link exists. Review the post or page after publishing. Publishing a replacement does not remove the need to check the displayed source, visibility and playback.
We recommend publishing completed videos to YouTube before embedding and selecting its published player to reduce video bandwidth and playback load on your WordPress hosting.
In Settings → Publishing → Frontend playback, set Default published destination for embeds to YouTube after a successful, embeddable publication, then check the saved page.
Keep the merged source available until you have checked the uploaded result.
Free storage after checking the published video
For an eligible completed output, open the gear menu in Projects > Merged Videos and choose Delete website copy. The Publish dialog can also offer Review website copy after a successful publication.
- Choose Download video and confirm that your backup was saved.
- Open the published YouTube video and check playback and the current merged output. VidFlow also checks that YouTube has finished processing a public or unlisted, embeddable video.
- Read the local-file warning and confirm permanent website-copy deletion. A legacy publication can need an additional matching-output confirmation.
- Wait for Local copy deleted. If cleanup remains pending, read the error and use Resume cleanup to finish the same accepted operation.
The merged record, project, saved sequence, source clips, poster and published video stay. Existing VidFlow embeds use the accepted YouTube player even when the default playback preference is off. VidFlow blocks cleanup while a managed workflow or another saved sequence still needs the local output.
Local downloads, direct WordPress file links and reuse of that output as a source stop working. Another upload or future merge needs the original file; VidFlow cannot restore it from a platform player. Keep your backup. The separate Delete merged video action removes the merged record and makes its VidFlow embeds unavailable, including when the video is published.
