Read the failed stage before you change a clip or pay to generate it again.

Check the sequence before merging
- Save the sequence before starting the merge.
- Use completed sources that still exist and play from the project.
- Keep the same orientation. Portrait and wide clips cannot be mixed in the current workflow.
- Check Audio, No audio and Audio unknown badges. Known audio/silent mixtures are blocked; unknown audio is inspected before processing.
Clips do not need equal durations. Provider/model matching is useful context, but the actual source files and browser determine compatibility.
Find the stage that failed
- Fetching: open the source preview. Check whether the provider media, signed local URL or proxy is reachable. Resolve access/caching errors before retrying.
- Inspection or processing: read the audio/format message. A conversion may need browser codec support; remove the incompatible source or try a supported browser.
- Uploading or saving: check WordPress media permissions, upload limits and the host’s error message. Review whether a completed output or draft state already exists before repeating the action.
Resolution, frame rate and codec differences can require conversion. They are not all automatic hard failures.
Retry a smaller known sequence
- Keep the merge tab open. Cancel or clear the failed operation using the available control.
- Test a short sequence made from known playable compatible clips.
- Save the sequence and retry the browser merge.
- Preview the whole saved output before rebuilding the larger sequence.
Retrying a merge does not itself regenerate source clips. A provider-generation retry is a separate action and can incur charges.
Collect useful evidence
Record the browser, failing stage, source IDs, clip orientation/audio state and the sanitized error. Do not include provider keys or full signed media URLs in screenshots or reports.
Google source clips and Product Video flows require compatible packages and a supported browser. Review each output before publishing.
