Use the [vidflow] shortcode when you need VidFlow embeds outside the block editor.

Publish before embedding
We recommend publishing before embedding. Publish your completed video to an available publishing destination first, then use its published player on your site. YouTube is currently available; more publishing destinations are planned. This reduces video bandwidth and playback load on your WordPress hosting.
Wait for the upload and processing to finish. For YouTube, use public or unlisted visibility and allow embedding. In VidFlow AI → Settings → Publishing → Frontend playback, set Default published destination for embeds to YouTube. Then insert the VidFlow block or shortcode and check that the saved page uses the YouTube player. Publishing alone does not switch playback while this setting is Off.
Shortcode format
Use [vidflow id="123"], replacing 123 with the video ID from the Video Library.
Where it works
- Classic Editor content.
- Shortcode blocks.
- Widget or builder areas that run WordPress shortcodes.
- Custom theme areas that support WordPress shortcodes.
How to get it
- Open VidFlow AI -> Video Library.
- Find a completed video.
- Use the copy shortcode action from the card or preview.
- Paste the shortcode where WordPress shortcodes are supported.
Playback behavior
Shortcodes use the same playback settings as the embed block. Playback can use a provider-hosted video, a protected local file or a published destination.
If it shows unavailable
- The video is still processing.
- The video was deleted.
- A local signed URL expired and the refresh route is blocked.
- The provider-hosted URL expired or is unreachable and no local or published fallback exists.
Use the VidFlow record ID
The id value is the record ID copied from Video Library, not a WordPress Media Library attachment ID. Paste the exact copied shortcode using straight quotes. For a Pro merged output, use its own copied shortcode; do not substitute a merged ID into the single-video example.
Read the merged-video embed guide.
