Publish before embedding

We recommend publishing before embedding. Publish your completed video to an available publishing destination first, then use its published player on your site. YouTube is currently available; more publishing destinations are planned. This reduces video bandwidth and playback load on your WordPress hosting.

Wait for the upload and processing to finish. For YouTube, use public or unlisted visibility and allow embedding. In VidFlow AI → Settings → Publishing → Frontend playback, set Default published destination for embeds to YouTube. Then insert the VidFlow block or shortcode and check that the saved page uses the YouTube player. Publishing alone does not switch playback while this setting is Off.

Use the VidFlow Video block

  1. Open a post or page in the WordPress block editor.
  2. Add or select the VidFlow Video block.
  3. Choose the merged-video source when its selector is available. Search or page through eligible completed results.
  4. Select your merged video and review the preview.
  5. Update or publish your content when you are ready, then test playback on the frontend.

Only completed eligible merged sources can be selected. If the list is empty, return to Projects and check that a merge completed successfully.

Use a shortcode

Copy the shortcode from the merged video’s project card or preview. Its form is [vidflow merged_id="123"]; replace 123 with that merged record’s ID.

An ordinary generated clip uses [vidflow id="123"]. A merged ID and a video ID are different sources even when their numbers happen to match. Use the shortcode supplied for the item you selected.

Check protected and published playback

Playback can use the saved WordPress result or an eligible published destination, according to your site’s settings. Protected URLs can expire and refresh. Check the actual post or page after saving, including any selected destination’s visibility.

Exclude /vidflow-video/*, /wp-json/vidflow/v1/public-video-url* and the equivalent ?rest_route=/vidflow/v1/public-video-url* route from page/CDN caching. See the embed guide for the wider playback workflow.

After deleting a website copy

When you use Delete website copy for an eligible published merged output, its record and existing VidFlow block, shortcode and product-gallery associations stay. Playback uses the accepted YouTube player even when the default published-player preference is off. This retained playback also remains available after Pro license expiry; starting new Pro workflows still requires an active license.

YouTube must remain available for that player to work. A platform player does not provide the original download or a merge source. Deleting the merged record through Delete merged video makes its VidFlow embeds unavailable. Read the backup and storage-saving steps.

If the source is missing

Check that the merged record and saved media still exist and that you have permission to select them. Confirm your compatible Pro package and license are active. Review your license terms for renewal or expiry questions.
