Embed Block

Embed a completed VidFlow video in the block editor with the VidFlow Video block.

Publish before embedding

We recommend publishing before embedding. Publish your completed video to an available publishing destination first, then use its published player on your site. YouTube is currently available; more publishing destinations are planned. This reduces video bandwidth and playback load on your WordPress hosting.

Wait for the upload and processing to finish. For YouTube, use public or unlisted visibility and allow embedding. In VidFlow AI → Settings → Publishing → Frontend playback, set Default published destination for embeds to YouTube. Then insert the VidFlow block or shortcode and check that the saved page uses the YouTube player. Publishing alone does not switch playback while this setting is Off.

Add a video to a post or page

1. Open a post or page in the block editor.
2. Add the VidFlow Video block.
3. Search or page through completed videos.
4. Select a completed video.
5. Confirm the preview appears in the editor.
6. Publish or update the post/page.

Check playback

• Preview the saved post or page to check playback.
• Playback can use provider-hosted, local signed, or published destination sources depending on video state and settings.
• Signed local playback URLs can refresh in the browser when the refresh script is not blocked.

Choose the correct source

Use a completed VidFlow record. A Media Library attachment ID is not a VidFlow video ID. In the Pro, the same block can select a completed merged video; read the merged-video guide.
